Modaflame™ The garments can be worn on top of each other to achieve a higher level of protection against arcing (-> Arc Thermal Performance Value = ATPV) or to increase the threshold value when the material breaks open (Energy Break open threshold = Ebt). For example, if the undergarment of an ebt of 4.3 Cal/m2 and an overall worn over it reaches an ATPV of 13.6Cal/cm2, the combined ATPV is in any case greater than the sum of the two individual layers, because the layer of air between the layers provides the wearer with additional protection.
